Q:  Do I have to be in good shape to participate?

A:  No.  Although we do a lot of physical activity and it would certainly be to your advantage to be as fit as possible, the physical parts are alternated with breaks, and you are encouraged to go at your own pace.  The camp is not only open to the action-oriented crowd, but to anyone who wants to learn more about the action film industry.

Q:  Is martial arts experience required?

A:  No.  Although the emphasis is on martial arts/action movies, we have had many people participate who had other backgrounds such as gymnastics, fitness, wrestling, etc.  Sometimes, non-martial artists pick up movie-style fighting more easily because they are not "set in their ways" about throwing a punch or a kick.

Q:  What should I wear?

A:  Loose, comfortable clothing that you can move easily in.  The weather can be unpredictable, so a light jacket would be a good idea, and a hooded jacket or cap comes in handy if it rains.  You do not need a martial arts uniform.

Q:  What else do I need to bring?

A:  We also recommend knee and elbow pads, or any other pertinent athletic training gear.  Since some classes are held outdoors you may want to bring sun screen, sun glasses, and cap.  Additional items include:  camera, paper & pen for notes, water bottle, fanny pack, alarm clock, head shot/resume/video, money for snacks, etc.

Q:  Can I bring a video camera?

A:  You may, however none of the instructional sessions may be recorded.

Q:  Which airport should I fly into, and how will I get to and from the airport?

A:  The three airports available are the Stewart/Newburgh airport in Newburgh, NY; Newark airport in Newark, NJ; and La Guardia Airport in NY. There are rental cars at each airport ok if notified ahead of time we will pick you up for an additional charge. Prices range depending on the airport you are arriving at.
